Living Among Us is an ongoing artistic research project into the non-human life that shares the community where I live. At Lakefront, humans are not the only inhabitants. Wasps cross the carpet, sourdough ferments in the kitchen, fungi grow in corners, plants (and pests) spread through shared spaces and countless other organisms quietly co-shape life with us. I am documenting these encounters and looking at how human and non-human residents coexist, interfere with one another and depend on the same environment. The project asks what a community might look like if we considered these other forms of life as co-residents as well.
